STU Info Session: Scholarship Application Workshop

Our generous scholarship program has attracted students from around the globe who are passionate about social justice issues and attract to our unique liberal arts approach. ԰ rewards students for all their hard work. During this virtual event, we will talk about the scholarship application process and provide you with tips and tricks on how to make your application stand out!  We look forward to seeing you there.

Join us from home from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm (Atlantic)! This virtual event will provide information you need about starting at STU.

The event will include sessions hosted by admissions staff, alumni, current STUdents, faculty, and more. Attend a sample lecture, hear about living in residence, and take a virtual campus tour.

Gain Experience at STU: Experiential Learning and Campus Jobs

Wednesday, February 28 at 7:30 PM Atlantic

 

 

At ԰, what you learn in the classroom is complemented by experiential learning. Through paid internships, credit-based internships, on-campus job opportunities, and volunteer experiences, STUdents are able to cultivate and refine skills, while also expanding their networks and learning about themselves.

 

This virtual event is aimed at giving future STUdents and their supporters a sense of the experiential learning opportunities available to them at ԰, as well as the supports in place that will help them select and reflect on their professional development experiences. Current STUdents, staff members, and a recent graduate will also be on-hand to answer any questions you may have.

Gain Experience at STU: Extracurricular activities

There are many ways to be involved in the STU community outside of your classroom. This virtual event will highlight some of the ways in which our students are involved in their community through various initiatives. This includes being involved in clubs and societies, being on the athletics teams, volunteering in and around the Fredericton community and fighting social justice through social responsibility. Talk with current STUdent, staff members, and alumni to get a better sense of how STUdents can get involved in extracurricular activities, while balancing their academics, career development, and personal lives. With an interactive Q&A period at the end, this panel is the perfect opportunity for parents and supporters alike to have all of their questions answered about the enriching opportunities at STU!

STU Residence Life: Apply to live in residence

This session will cover our different residence options and show you how to apply for residence prior to the April 15th recommended deadline. We will be able to field your questions about the amenities in each building, in addition to being able to answer any questions about the application process itself. Whether you applied for residence back in October or you’re considering applying prior to this week’s deadline, this webinar will be helpful in ensuring you understand the options available to you, the ways living in residence can affect your university experience, and the processes and timeline associated with residence assignments. We cannot wait to tell you about your options and our experiences!

University course registration is one of the most fun and empowering processes you have to look forward to leading up to your post-secondary career. With no required first-year courses, first-year course registration at ԰ allows you the flexibility to explore subjects about which you are passionate and interested.

 

Attend this session to learn more about the art of choosing your courses without feeling overwhelmed by your newfound course selection freedom. This session will also provide an overview of the online application you will use to register in your own courses once course registration opens later this month.

 

Be sure to come with questions, as our academic advisors and admissions counsellors who assist with the course registration process will be on stand-by ready to answer anything and everything about which you are wondering!

STU Residence Life: Choosing Your Room and Roommate

In May, STUdents who applied to live in residence prior to the April 15th deadline receive their building placement and room type. This session will cover what to do next - how to pay your deposit and gain access to our residence app, which will allow you to select your room and roommate! We'll have helpful tips and tricks to keep in mind when selecting a roommate, and we will be available to answer any questions you have.

Our generous scholarship program has attracted students from around the globe who are passionate about social justice issues and attract to our unique liberal arts approach.  During this virtual event, we would like to welcome our incoming scholarship recipients from around the world and provide them with the opportunity to hear from scholarship recipients currently studying at ԰, as well as from those who recently graduated from St. Thomas.

 

Feel free to bring any questions you have for our panel of current and past scholarship recipients, as well as any questions you have pertaining to academics for our faculty panelists and any questions you have about the logistics of scholarship distribution and payment for our staff members.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Considering various educational and professional options, or looking to prepare for your post-secondary experience in the fall? You are invited to learn more about post-secondary options, outcomes, and more – from the comfort of your own home – at our virtual event.

 

At this dynamic event, which will include a variety of presentations, panel discussions, and workshops, you will be able to learn more about:

 

    • Post-secondary language and terminology

    • Current university students' experiences and insights

    • University graduates' outcomes and career trajectories

    • Considerations to keep in mind throughout the decision-making process

    • Application and decision-making timelines

All event attendees will also receive STU swag.

This event is all about helping you pack and prepare for your residence experience. Wondering what you should or shouldn't bring? Not sure what size our residence beds are? Thinking about buying a mini fridge? Wondering if you should bring change to do the laundry in residence? You'll want to tune into this info session prior to getting too far into the planning, purchasing, and packing process, as you will leave the event with a better sense of how to plan for your time living in residence.

While embarking on post-secondary studies is exciting, we oftentimes hear incoming STUdents’ concerns about the workload and rigor associated with university-level coursework.
